Ayo, ayo, ayo, what the heck up's y'all!? This ya boy Young Denzel n' today we gettin' back into the swing of thangs wit' this fresh album from the OG Ice Cube hisself - Man Down.

I was gonna be reviewin' this thing earlier y'all, hell, I was MAD EXCITED for this thing to drop, then y'all know Kung Fu Kenny dropped outta nowhere n' messed things up. But yo, we gonna play Cube now n' see how this tape goes. Ain't no reason we gotta be ignorin' him. Let's dive in!

Rollin' At Twilight - We startin' out pretty nice. Like the way this beat flowin' in here. Nice intro lyrics, pretty tight. I'm vibin' wit' this, mad smooth y'all. This the type of track that'd be mad dope playin' in the car, jus' cruisin'.

It's My Ego - I like whateva the heck this sample they done flipped here is. This anotha dope, tight track. I like this, this summa that real gangsta rap typa shit. This shit HARD, ya feel me? The lyrics here soundin' mad dope. Seems like son used a lyric I wrote 'bout Will Smith afta I did. Hate when that kinda mess happens.

This track's great tho'. Lovin' the sample flip here, that hook goin' smooth as heck y'all. This one solid y'all.

So Sensitive - This beat kinda be soundin' like sumthin' DJ Quik woulda cooked up back in the day. First verse pretty tight, lovin' this hook too. She's Sanctified ft. Snoop Dogg, E40, Too $hort - Dang, son talkin' smack 'bout chicks on here. This kinda jus' a fun track, summa that "locker room talk" kinda thing. Snoop's verse dope too, kinda seems a bit phoned in, but it's aight. Got a lil' Slick Rick influence in there wit' that "And we did it, and we did it, and we did it" kinda thing. DANG, E40 jus' KILLED his verse. Son SLID on that. Too $hort on now. He's aight, it's a Too $hort verse, son can still rap. But dang, E40 tore the place down y'all. Mad dope verse, word!!

Not Like Them - This beat kinda interestin'. It's aight, got summa them scratches in it, it's aight. Cube's lyrics are dope of course, a lotta concious kinda stuff son's kickin'. No Cap ft. Mike Epp, K Major ft. IshaDon - Dang this beat hits. Mike Epps got an intro on this. We got sum sangin' kid callin' hisself "K Major" on the hook, it's an aight hook, nuthin' I really vibes wit' tho'. Cube's verse tight an' we got this kinda clever line "Everybody want my job. Nobody want your job 'cause your job's a blowjob". IshaDon comes on now, son can spit yo. He kinda got an accent, but yo, I vibes wit' all of this. Even the singin' hook, whole thing's mad dope to me.

3 Lil Piggies - This beat mad hard an' son's jus' flowin' smooth n' hard on this. Dang this one's good, Cube's strikin' out at all these kiddies who been talkin' smack 'bout him. This one I wish was kinda longer. Fire track y'all.

Beats - 8/10

18/20

Ghetto Story - This track smooth, kinda nostalgic. Son's been tryin' to get that "It Was a Good Day" magic for a heckuva long time now, word. Still, don't mean the stuff ain't dope, it's still that hard West Coast ish we all lovin'.

Beats - 7/10

Facts - ft. J-Dee - This intro feelin' excitin'. Cube's verse is mad tight. J-Dee's dope too, this thing soundin' VERY DMX inspired tho'. Not that it's BAD, but I kinda wish summa these guys would try not to copy, unless you doin' a homage or sumthin'. Still a dope track tho'.

Beats - 6/10

Lyrics - 7/10

13/20

Fighting For My Life ft. Kurupt - This first verse summa the dopest shit Cube done kicked on this whole album right up in here. That a TIGHT verse y'all. Kurupt spittin' now. He got a dope verse too y'all. This track's SMOOTH.

Beats - 8/10

Lyrics - 9/10

17/20

Let's Get Money Together ft. B-Real - This intro's dope. I kinda like that vocal effect Cube's got here. Dang, son got B-Real on this track?! THAT'S worth notin' y'all. Afta all the stuff Cube n' his Westside Connexion crew was talkin' 'bout Cypress Hill, this kinda shockin' to me. I guess they done peaced it up, which is fantastic, word. This whole track dope.

Beats - 8/10

I'mma Burn Rubber - This beat's mad dope, an' Cube's spittin' n' flowin' so hard ova this. Dang, this track's dope. I love this flow, ish is kinda simple but dope. This track makin' me wanna go burn rubber or sumthin', this thing HARD, word.

Beats - 8/10

Lyrics - 6/10

14/20

Especiaily You - I love how this startin' out. Soundin' like an East Coast kinda anthem straight outta the 80s or sumthin'. This dope, wish it coulda gone viral or sumthin', I can picture kiddies breakin' to this for days. I wish they made more tracks like this nowadays y'all. They gonna be callin' it mad dated, but I rocks wit' it personally.

Beats - 7/10

Lyrics - 6/10

13/20

Break the Mirror ft. Xzibit - Dang this beat goin' stupid hard. Cube's wildin' out on this, talkin' 'bout takin' on the Devil an' everythin'. This summa that music to go riot to, fam. Xzibit got a dope verse too, mainly 'bout how he's buggin' cause of climate change n' Tiktok an' all that mess. It's aight though.

Beats - 8/10

Lyrics - 9/10

17/20

Talkin' Bout These Rappers - Cube soundin' like he borrowin' Denzel's flow here. Huh. Kinda odd. This one's dissin' trolls on the Internet. This so damn funny, this the typa shit I be seein' on Reddit all the dang time, part of why I ain't there no more. All this "Top 5 dead or alive" lists an' whatnot. That flow on the second verse straight up brutal, an' I think son's dissin' Future wit' that "You on Pluto, I'm on Earth". This whole track mad dope, avoidin' bein' corny too.

Beats - 9/10

Lyrics - 9/10

18/20

Scary Movie - A lotta these tracks is gettin' real good towards the end. This track dope, the beat pretty tight, an' son's flowin' nice. Kinda ended a lil' too quick, but it's aight.

Beats - 7/10

Lyrics - 7/10

14/20

Take Me To Your Leader - Son got an unusual sample here on the intro. It kinda odd but dope. The rappin's fantastic tho', mainly directed at them bustas who ride the hell outta the jock of every sucka who they can glom onto. This one's dope, love the energy n' flowin' Cube's on here. That weird sample in the background kinda bringin' it down a bit for me tho', word.

Beats - 6/10

Lyrics - 7/10

13/20

Ego Maniacs ft. Killer Mike, Busta Rhymes - This one's dope, great outro y'all. Killer Mike - well - kills it. First verse liquid fire on wax, b. That summa that real lyrical spittin', shit's mad dope. Cube's comin' in now. His verse dope, mainly on the flow. Busta rappin' now. His verse dope too, mad fine closure y'all.

Beats - 8/10

Lyrics - 8/10

Let's tally all that up now:

289/380

76%

That tape was pretty dope y'all. Kinda took me awhile to get through this album cause of all the drama wit' Kenny n' Drake n' whatnot, but yo, this one gonna get slept on hard. Son put out a mad dope release an' ain't no one gonna be checkin' for it cause of Kendrick droppin' the same day. Summa the flows on this I kinda wasn't feelin' too much an' there's a couple beats here n' there where I was like "Ayo, what this sample flip supposed to do, b?" But overall, I vibed heavy wit' this one. Ceritfied 2020s West Coast classic, right up there wit' GNX. Aight, I'm out, peace y'all.
