Maxo Kream: Personification

Yo, yo, yo, what up fam? It's ya boy Denzel back in the mix, an' check this out, I'm holdin’ it down like a street prophet with the illest takes y’all ain’t even dreamed of. Straight up homie! I’m bringin’ y'all the heat straight from the deserts of the Southwest—where we be out here munchin’ rattlesnake kebabs and flossin’ with cactus thorns, namsayin'? We do this for real, pop chart rappers get tossed brick walls on my block jus' for fun, word. Aight, let’s get this intro out the way and roll into the real biz.

We gonna check out this new joint from a rapper callin' hisself Maxo Kream. Word, I ain't knowin' who the heck son was till he came out on a feature on that KOTMS2 album my boy Denzel dropped. I thought the feature was aight, so gonna see how the album is. Let's get into it right now y'all!

Mo Murda - Right off the bat, I be likin' how this thing's openin' y'all. That intro music wit' the church organ samples got me hyped. Feels like we gonna hear sumthin' dope. I'm likin' son's voice too. Got a mad nice flow too. The intro kinda soundin' like a chant, kinda unique. Third verse is jus' mad dope, b. I vibe wit' this, this intro aight.

FASHITSHO - Them pipe samples on the beat kinda fly. This rhyme scheme, espeically the hook, kinda feelin' weak tho'. It's whateva. Not really standin' out too much, but it's aight I guess.

Cracc Era ft. Tyler the Creator - I love that sampling on the intro y'all. Tyler raan up in here bringin' that smooth fire. That rhyme scheme son gots fine as heck, word! Ayo, I kinda got a lil' record shop in my head if ya know what I be tryna say. I know I heard this flow someplace befo', maybe an underground rap tape? I dunno. Still don't mean it ain't dope tho', post-2020 Tyler as a feature kills it like heck.

Ayo, I just remembered where I'd heard son's rhymin' befo'. This the same typa flow n' rhyme scheme off Kendrick Lamar's "ADHD" track off his "Section 80" tape. Maybe Tyler's doin' a homage or sumthin', who knows.

Maxo Kream's verse aight buy it ain't matchin' Tyler's finesse wit' all that fly rhymin' up in there. Still a dope track y'all.

Street Fraternity - Maxo's really in his bag y'all. Son's rappin' 'bout a young kid fallin' in wit' some bad friends n' gettin' into gangbangin' n' all of that mess. The rhymes ain't nothin' that's gonna be blowin' my mind, but the words son uses is makin' this hit hard, word is bond. I vibes heavy wit' this track, ish is mad deep. Gettin' a lotta early Kendrick vibes off this one.

Beats - 6/10

Big Hoe Me - Dang this HITS. This mess is deep. Straight autobiographical masterpiece—had me thinkin’ about life different. This gotta be one of the best tracks I done heard all year y'all. I ain't gonna spoil it, y'all gotta hear this yourselfs. Gonna keep it hunna wit' y'all, this MAD HEAVY. Beat and bars hit perfect. Don’t sleep on this joint, son.

Smokey - I ain't gonna front, this intro kinda annoyin' n' dumb, but the beat drops an' life's good again. The hook's rhymes are kinda wack, but the rhymin's aight. BigXThaPlug came by an' dropped a verse which was aight, but not takin' any awards. My main beef wit' this track's that hook. It ain't fittin' right. First verse from Maxo's smooth tho'.

Beats - 8/10

Higher Than Ever - Now I don't know who the heck this Rob49 kid is, but son rappin' like he be higher than ever, word. I'm imaginin' this guy shreiking like a lil' girl while hoppin' round in the studio or sumthin'. Son's rhymes are awkward an' his flow fittin' the beat like a glove on a seal flipper, nahmean? But yo, Maxo's comin' in now. Son got in summa them nice bars, but also got in too many rhymes 'bout dykes an' eatin' box. Y'all are crazy. Let's see how this Skrilla B kid goes now. Oh, this guy rappin' for real, word. Son went in, son's verse pretty dang solid. I'm lovin' that last verse, gonna keep an eye on him.

Drizzy Draco 2 - This track soundin' hard for real, an' I'm thinkin' this joint's a Drake sneak diss y'all. First off, these lyrics kinda makin' a pun outta Drake's name wit' that "Brought a drac on stage like YMCMB" bar. Then we gets these kinda odd lines up in here that be soundin' like sneak dissin' mess:

"And we forever piped up, we never put them pipes down"

On that weed plate "Certified Lover Boy" Fake - sorry - Drake, got a track called "Pipe Down". This one of them songs where the Marshmallow Messiah's tryna flex how tough he is an' how son's enemies better get outta his town cause he owns it an' will they please pipe down talkin' mean 'bout son n' whatnot. Son ain't said what town he runs in the track, so I'mma take a bet it's Sesame Street. So son on the track shoutin' at enemies to please clear outta Sesame Street, or he'll be very angry.

"My opps still braggin' 'bout a body that they caught in self-defense"

Drake's been braggin' 'bout beatin' that otha Mr. Softie rapper Meek Mill into the ground from like 2011 was it?? till this year now. That's mainly cause son ain't got no other wins. Not gonna lie, Meek did diss Drake first, so there goes that line for y'all.

Then we got a really explicit typa dissin':

"I see thе same lame niggas postin' pictures with them thangs

Be the same lame niggas gettin' robbed for they chains"

Ain't gonna say nothin', jus' check out this link y'all: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/toronto/what-happened-after-two-men-robbed-drake-at-gunpoint/article1373361/

"Drizzy Draco spin like dreidels

Turn yo' block to a bar mitzvah

We trap handlebars and crystal

Al-Qaeda choppa', play with missiles"

I ain't feelin' that Al-Qaeda bar, it be feelin' kinda anti-semitic, but I'm gonna think this one of them sneak disses again, word.

I might be wrong y'all. I ain't the brainiac on all of this celeb drama, I'm just a blog writer yo. So I ain't gonna decide for Maxo if son was dissin' or if he ain't, namsayin'? I kinda be thinkin' the joint IS a diss. But yo, I vibes wit' it, Drakey-poo diss or not.

Beats - 8/10

Walk by Faith - This track's really nice. Got a solid beat an' good rhymin'. Maxo's gettin' real deep on this track y'all. Joint's interestin', gives ya sumthin' to think 'bout. KCG Josh got a solid verse too. Now listen up y'all, I'm kinda arguin' wit' this guy 'bout summa his theology, but I can respect son's talent. Solid track.

Beats - 8/10

Lyrics - 7/10

15/20

Drop Top Impala - Ayo, this one solid. that beat drop's all kindsa dope, an' the hook ACTUALLY WORKS YO! This rhymin' wit' this deep thought tip son's on is dope too. Track feelin' It feels pretty well constructed, ain't nothin' that's too groundbreakin', but I'm feelin' it y'all. Anotha rapper comes in here. Hm, I kinda vibes wit' son's verse more than Maxo's, word. This thing gotta lotta more...soul? to it. Hope y'all catch my meaning here.

Beats - 6/10

Bibles and Rifles – Yo, the flow on this joint is summa that smooth butter. The rhymes is on the same smoothness tip too, word. They still hittin' harder than the pavement tho'. This joint’s got layers, mad deep. The producer's got some crazy slick placement on that beat switch, son. And that bar: “Never praise You when I’m up, only call on You when I’m down”—that’s real talk, fam. Hittin' me right in the feels.

Beats: 8/10

Lyrics: 8/10

16/20

Talkin’ In Screw ft. That Mexican OT – Word is bond y'all, this intro's mad dope. This track goes hard, no question. That Mexican OT brought summa that fuego on his verse, straight up. The thing I AIN'T feelin' is summa this lazy rhymin' on Maxo’s verse. We got this wack Pikachu rhyme son? Ayo, son felt like he was just reachin' tryna make it fit, ya feel me? Like son had been TRYIN' to rhyme SUMTHIN' wit' "Pikachu" an' got mad desperate. Still, the joint knocks overall.

Beats: 7/10

Lyrics: 8/10

15/20

Bang the Bus – Yo, that sample on the intro, summa that straight up dopeness. Mad love for that shoutout to Nigeria, word. But this line son got ova here: “Doja pack, stash it in her pussy, call it Doja Cat”, yo b, that’s straight goofy. Now I'm kinda actually listenin' close to this, an' the whole track be feelin' like some half-baked idea that Maxo done gone n' snuck onto the album when no one was lookin’. Beat’s aight, but you just loopin’ the hook and ain’t sayin’ nothin’, my guy. Miss me with this one, it ain't goin' no place.

Beats: 6/10

Lyrics: 5/10

11/20

Triggaman (ft. Denzel Curry) – Ayo, this joint startin' off strong right out the gate. That second verse, we got Maxo in his flamethrower mode, son's jus' crematin' everything. There's this line: “Taco Bell, we pull up with shells”—it’s dumb as all get out, but yo, I gotta admit the shit kinda made me laugh. Denzel, though just plain bodied this track. Verse had more bars than Rikers on lock. Certified fire, and that outro's chef’s kiss. Denzel killed this, word.

Beats - 8/10

Lyrics - 8/10

16/20

This joint's solid. Except for a few tracks I was kinda thinkin' were filler mess, I vibed wit' this one heavy. Final ratin':

201/280

71%

Aight, all things considered, this album’s mad solid, b. Yeah, we got summa that fluff in the mix—like that "Bang the Bus" joint, which is straight garbage to me—but yo, Tyler, Skrilla B, and Denzel came through with straight heat on their verses. Some of the beats I ain't likin', but there ain't no beats that's trash, an' that's facts y'all. "Big Hoe Me" REALLY hit me. Yo, that ish gotta be one of the realest tracks I done heard all year. Got the same kinda vibes as "Sing About Me, I’m Dying of Thirst" or "One Love"—Maxo just needs the right typa shine to hit legendary status. Cop this one, no question—it’s worth every penny.

REVIEW - Big Sean: Better Me Than You

Ayo, listen up! It's ya boy Denzel out here, droppin' that fresh review, straight off the press. Buckle up for safety cause y'all are gonna get taken on a mad wild ride. Straight outta the South Bronx, where they call our block "Wish a Sucka Would". Y'all know what I mean, word. Gonna cut the flexing out for now cause yo, Big Sean came through with an album yesterday. With all that static between him and Kendrick, we figured Kendrick would drop something today or real soon, but nah, Kendrick’s still playin’ that silent assassin role, just waitin' to clap back when he’s called out. Real talk though, Big Sean is straight jokes to me. Man’s just another puppet the industry built, spittin’ some of the corniest bars out there. Dude’s got potential but wastes it with lazy rhymes, wack punchlines, trash beats, and albums that sound like a teenage playlist on shuffle. This dude’s a diva, spoiled by the game, always rappin' about bread and chicks....

What's Beef - Joey Bada$$ vs. The West Coast

Ayo, what the hell's up y'all?! It's ya boy Young Denzel back at it again after bein' far away from all this reviewin' shit. Word is bond, we been missin' out on a helluva lotta stuff that's dropped. I been movin' an' workin' on producin' some kiddie's album's beats for him, much love to my mans Amor, he gonna be droppin' some fire, word. But I'mma be tryna make up for that, y'all know the reviewin' king be tryna keep up wit' everythin', WORD!!     So 'bout this beef which we got cookin' here. Word is bond y'all, the king didn't really give a shit about it. Apparently, this thing seems to have started as some shit the rap industry done gone n cooked up. You know what we always be sayin' round here - don't believe the hype. Word life y'all, there's a TON of it. But now, this thing lookin' like it's gettin' kinda outta hand, so I would be doin' y'all a disservic...

REVIEW - Curren$y and DJ Fresh: The Tonite Show; The Sequel

Yo, yo, yo, what’s crackin', fam? It’s ya boy Denzel comin' back at y’all with another drop. Hope all my peeps out here in the States had a lit Labor Day, kickin' it with the squad and fam, you know the vibes (written on 3rd Sept.) So I wasn’t even tryna peep this tape at first, wasn't even on my radar, but then I scoped the album art on Reddit and yo, that art goes hard, word! Straight jackin' the OG cover from Kool G Rap and DJ Polo’s Road to Riches. Now, last time someone bit a cover like this, it was that 21 Savage joint with the Illmatic swipe on American Dream, and word is bond y'all, that was straight rubbish. Had me tight tryna review that weak fake gangsta mess. So this joint better pull up or it’s curtains. Road to Riches? That's a certified 10/10, word. And yo, if you ain't bumped that Kool G classic yet, stop playin' and go cop that joint. Don’t even come at me talkin’ 'bout you gonna get that ish on streaming, it ain’...
