Logic - Aquarius III: REVIEW

What the hell's up y'all?! This ya boy Denzel back in the house after a long absence. Life jus' been throwin' them curve balls at a brotha ya know? But we aight, still down wit' the finest queen ever, Emma herself, an' we still tight as hell. Let's jump into this!!

Logic done gone an' dropped an EP he callin' Aquarius III, word! Now y'all remember I rated son's album in my Top Ten List for '24, an' I'm hopin' he bring the fire here. Son gets mad ill when he wants, on me!! This thing tiny, only 14 minutes. But let's see if it wack or fire.

This is the Way - This startin' off aight. The beat's aight, it's got kick to it. The narrator thingy's dope.

Damn. This don't sound like Logic. Shit soundin' like son bitin' Mac Miller's style, word. Now I KNOW this cat can do betta. He ain't gotta sound like no other rapper out here. This hook misplaced too....it kinda too pop for this sorta track. This ain't a BAD song but son soundin' so much like Mac Miller I ain't able to take this shit seriously. Word.

French Dispatch - Ohh!! This the Logic I been hopin' for off this! Son spittin' here like his own self!! Damn!! Son jus' cooked that while first verse, word!! I love this thing where he talkin' bout his imaginary friend. Shit low-key deep y'all. This thing dope.

Beats - 8/10

Not a Game ft. Lucy Rose - I don't know who this Lucy Rose chick is but I'm hopin' she aight. Logic's spittin' pretty aight again, an' the beat nice. His flow started off kinda shaky but then he jus' flowin' like heck. Love the Dilla shout-out too, word. Nice beat change to that hook. The rest of this wit Lucy Rose too poppy an' shouldn't have been given so much dang time. It's aight but I ain't gonna be returnin' jus' for Logic's verse cause that sangin' lady mad unnecessary. Shit was like tryna mix Chappell Roan wit' Mobb Deep - ain't workin' out.

Beats - 7/10
Lyrics - 7/10

Universe - We startin' off wit' a lil skit. Oh gosh.... son's on his sangin' tip again. Finally he back to rappin' an' it's pretty dope. This beat soundin' nostalgic kinda. It kinda like Money Trees but ain't got the stayin' power. Oh now they jus' cut the verse on in the middle?? Who the hell thought that was a good idea, b?? Son was flowin' for a sec there.

Beats - 7/10

Kinda wanna cut points for cuttin' the song off but we'll let it slide.

A Message From My Younger Self - This a skit wit' Logic talkin' bout hisself an his journey. It's from 2011, an' the ish pretty inspirational, kinda a nice note to end on. I like this outro.

Aight y'all. Let's tally this whole thing up:

57/80
71%

It's an aight project all in all. I ain't mad at it, it jus' coulda been....better in places. One thing I'm gonna say - the brotha's got his skits right FINALLY. I know a helluva lotta people were out there bitchin' cause the skits on his last album were too long, that ain't an issue here. Son jus' did a lil five second skit here an' there an' went right to music. That's perfect, word. Best track outta all this gonna be the French Dispatch one, son was goin' lyrical like crazy on there an' the beat's dope. The intro is gonna be the worst track cause that shit....yo, I dunno what my guy was tryna do there, but that moanin' on the mic like he drunk off sumthin' ain't it. Save that for Lil Peep an' them emo rap kids. Summa the mixin' here off too, word. I dunno what son's producer be doin', but he reminds me of me - me at 12.

Other than that an' the Chappell Roan duplicate on Not a Game, this tape aight. If you don't vibe wit' Logic, it ain't gonna make you a fan, but it's worth one listen at least.

REVIEW - Big Sean: Better Me Than You

Ayo, listen up! It's ya boy Denzel out here, droppin' that fresh review, straight off the press. Buckle up for safety cause y'all are gonna get taken on a mad wild ride. Straight outta the South Bronx, where they call our block "Wish a Sucka Would". Y'all know what I mean, word. Gonna cut the flexing out for now cause yo, Big Sean came through with an album yesterday. With all that static between him and Kendrick, we figured Kendrick would drop something today or real soon, but nah, Kendrick’s still playin’ that silent assassin role, just waitin' to clap back when he’s called out. Real talk though, Big Sean is straight jokes to me. Man’s just another puppet the industry built, spittin’ some of the corniest bars out there. Dude’s got potential but wastes it with lazy rhymes, wack punchlines, trash beats, and albums that sound like a teenage playlist on shuffle. This dude’s a diva, spoiled by the game, always rappin' about bread and chicks....

REVIEW - Curren$y and DJ Fresh: The Tonite Show; The Sequel

Yo, yo, yo, what’s crackin', fam? It’s ya boy Denzel comin' back at y’all with another drop. Hope all my peeps out here in the States had a lit Labor Day, kickin' it with the squad and fam, you know the vibes (written on 3rd Sept.) So I wasn’t even tryna peep this tape at first, wasn't even on my radar, but then I scoped the album art on Reddit and yo, that art goes hard, word! Straight jackin' the OG cover from Kool G Rap and DJ Polo’s Road to Riches. Now, last time someone bit a cover like this, it was that 21 Savage joint with the Illmatic swipe on American Dream, and word is bond y'all, that was straight rubbish. Had me tight tryna review that weak fake gangsta mess. So this joint better pull up or it’s curtains. Road to Riches? That's a certified 10/10, word. And yo, if you ain't bumped that Kool G classic yet, stop playin' and go cop that joint. Don’t even come at me talkin’ 'bout you gonna get that ish on streaming, it ain’...

Kodak Black - Trill Bill: REVIEW

Ayo, ayo, ayo, what the heck's up y'all?! Denzel back up in this mothafucka an' today we gonna be reviewin' Kodak Black's newest album "Trill Bill". Now, I'mma keep it real wit' y'all. Son's last drop, "Dieuson Octave" is gotta be one of the wackest projects I done reviewed. That thing was TRASH. But yo, maybe son can try n' do sumthin' fresh. Let's check this out: Cherish the Moment - Aight, I like how we startin' out. Sum nice piano here, it's aight. Then son's voice came in an' ruined it. I mean, all the "milk of human kindness" n that sorta shit went an' dried up in me soon as that kid started dronin', nahmean. Aight, let's continue. This fool on this album soundin' like he not even know what the heck this song s'posed to be 'bout. I mean son on here talkin' like "I got bitches, I got money, I got zzzzvzvzzvzzv feelin'" . Uh, wha...
